Within Contact refers to the category of the range of contact where an intended weapon can create either Surface Contact or Contact Penetration (optionally, along with Contact Manipulation) with the intended target.
Within Contact can easily be thought of as the range where your intended weapon can touch the intended target.
Within Contact can be used to refer to both offensive and defensive maneuvers.
Mr. Parker's original teachings and writings referred to Within Contact as the Second Stage of Range and excluded Surface Contact as one of the Stages of Range. This writing varies from his original teachings and writings in this manner, but still includes Second Stage of Range in the A.K.A. section for backward compatibility. |
