Break

A move which has the effect of causing an Environmental Object to be fractured into at least two pieces.

Break is a generic term and can refer to a large number of situations and contexts.

A break differs from a lock, in that, a break applies enough pressure to an Environmental Object to cause it to shatter.

 

A break can typically be created from a lock by the application of more pressure.

 

Breaks are created in the following ways:

a.Strikes - breaking an Environmental Object on contact with it

b.Contact Manipulation - breaking an Environmental Object by applying pressure, after contact is made

 

Break is used as an argot when naming Self-defense Techniques that potentially can cause breaks.

 

Some practitioners train to develop focused power and/or chi in their strikes by practicing the breaking of Environmental Objects, such as wood or concrete.
