Locking can be effected using Natural Weapons or Man-Made Weapons.
See lock in basics for more information on a natural lock.
Locks are most commonly effected by isolating a joint of the target.
Immobilization is accomplished by applying enough force to the joint, such that, it causes the joint to rotate to, and stay at, the extended limit of its flexibility.
A lock differs from a break, in that, the intend is not to dislocate / break the joint, but rather to immobilize the joint's use.
Employ's a Body Fulcrum.
In order to effectively create a lock, there must be three (3) relatively fixed points to work against: 1)the joint itself 2)a point above (or to one side of) the joint 3)a point below (or to the opposite side of) the joint
Without these points the joint cannot be effectively locked. |
