A move that is designed to immobilize the joint of a weapon.
Immobilization is accomplished by applying enough force to the joint, such that, it causes the joint to rotate to, and stay at, the extended limit of its flexibility.
A lock is usually used in combination with a push, pull, grab, or other move that causes a joint to be extended.
A lock differs from a break, in that, the intend is not to dislocate (break) the joint, but rather to immobilize the joint's use.
Locks typically employ a Body Fulcrum.
A lock must employ three (3) points in which to work. Two (2) anchor points and one (1) lever point (the locking joint).
Locks may be considered part of the category of Vise-Like maneuvers. |
