Angle of Incidence

An idiom describing the angle at which an offensive move has in relation to its target at the Point of Contact.

Comments:

 

Typically, an Angle of Incidence tries to produce the maximum desired effect at the Point of Contact.

 

An Angle of Incidence differs from an Angle of Contact in that an Angle of Contact is more generic and can refer to contact made from offensive or defensive moves.

 

An Angle of Incidence is produced by an Angle of Execution.

 

An Angle of Incidence follows an Angle of Entry and precedes (optionally) and Angle of Retraction.

Angle of Incidence can often be determined by the Method of Execution in relationship to the intended target.

Example(s):

 

A straight punch executed to the opponent's body should create an Angle of Incidence at the Point of Contact of approximately 90 degrees.
