An easy way to understand Point of Contact is when two (2) or more Environmental Objects touch - for whatever reason.
Point of Contact is very generic and does not imply intent (i.e. defensive / offensive, deflective / preventative, purposeful / incidental, major / minor, etc.), only the fact the contact is made.
Point of Contact is one of the major elements of a weapon's Path of Travel.
Point of Contact differs from Penetration Point in that Point of Contact is prior to any (potential) penetration and only refers to the immediate contact on the surface of the target. |
