Colliding Forces is a general term and can be used to describe almost any collision.

Colliding Forces can refer to either an accidental occurrence or a purposeful one.
Some martial arts system's philosophic foundation is predicated upon the avoidance of Colliding Forces - instead, such systems rely upon motion that complements and rides offensive forces administered by (an) opponent(s). Two examples of these are: Judo and Aikido.
Colliding Forces can be used to one's advantage if strategically employed.
One important consideration when dealing with Colliding Forces, is the hardness of the surfaces that make contact with each other. Generally, the harder surfaces have a tendency to have an advantage over the softer surfaces. But, there are instances where this is not always true - such as a surface that is sufficiently soft as to completely absorb the collision without any adverse effect and/or disturbance.
Colliding Forces differs from Converging Forces in that Colliding Forces tends to be used more often to describe a negative occurrence. |
