Tear and rip are often used interchangeably.
Tears are often created by utilizing the tips of weapons.
Tear differs from rip in that tears are more closely associated with poking and/or gouging.
Tear differs from gouge in that intent of a tear is to separate through pulling or pushing, where gouge relies upon scooping or hooking to forcibly remove parts of the target through contact.
Tears are most closely associated with damage created by pokes, gouges, and/or pulls (utilizing Opposing Forces). And, to a lesser degree by claws, slices, and/or rakes. |
