This term refers to only one main characteristic of the overall checking maneuver. Because of this, the same checking maneuver can potentially be referred to in different ways or through a combination of characteristics.
A Collapsing Check refers to a part of the body being employed as a check, dropping from one position to another, yet still being used as a check in the new position - for at least two different weapons on the same opponent.
