Riding is most commonly used for cushioning or the redirection of offensive maneuvers.

 

Cushioning is commonly enacted using the Ride Body Maneuver, but it can technically accomplished with any part of the bodyor any Environmental Object, and can be used in conjunction with other strategic methods, such as:

Catching

Entwining

Trapping

Twisting

 

Redirecting is commonly enacted with the hands for enacting parries, but again can be accomplish with any part of the body or any Environmental Object.
