An idiom referring to a specialized method of blocking accomplished by anticipating and preventing an attacking weapon from reaching its full offensive potential with the use of some part of the body or an Environmental Object, by minimizing the gap between the weapon and the potential target - thus preventing the pivoting joint(s) and weapon adequate Path of Travel.
