Ricocheting Block is somewhat generic in nature and does not specify the type of block, rather only that it rebounded off a prior Point of Contact and that its intent is defensive in nature.
Ricocheting Block does not specify whether the prior contact point was defensive (i.e. Ricocheting Blocking Strike) or whether it was offensive in nature - just that there was one.
Generally speaking, a Ricocheting Block can be considered its own maneuver or method (i.e. an Elementary move), but could equally be considered as part of a more complex maneuver or method (i.e. a Sophisticated move). This is based upon how the maneuver is executed. This brings in the concepts of Residual Move and Latent Energy. |
