Sandwich is a specific classification of vise-like maneuver.
Sandwich differs from scissor in that sandwiches require all sides of the vising maneuver to be in-line with each other and moving; where scissors require all sides of the vising maneuver be slightly offset in space in such a way that they pass closely by each other in reverse directions when execution is concluded.
Sandwich differs from shear in that sandwiches require all sides of the vising maneuver to be in-line with each other and moving; where shears require one side of the vising maneuver be stationary and the opposing side(s) be slightly offset in space in such a way that they pass closely by each other in reverse directions when execution is concluded.
Sandwich differs from rip and tear in that sandwiches have all sides of the maneuver push toward each other and tears have the sides pulling away from each other. Another way to think about this is that both rip and tear are the reverse of, or an exaggerated form of sandwich. |
