Control Release

An idiom describing the ability to terminate control over (an) opponent(s) while still preventing, hindering, and/or delaying any retaliation.

Comments:

 

In other words, Control Release is the safe discontinuation of control over one's opponent(s).

 

In general, one should always strive for Control Releases.

 

Control Release is most often done at the end of a conflict.

 

Control Release has both a physical and a non-physical context:

 

In a physical context:

Control Release refers to any form of contact control being released over (an) opponent(s).

 

In a non-physical context:

Control Release typically refers to Psychological Leverage being released over (an) opponent(s).

Releasing a choke against an opponent, after the opponent has passed out, demonstrates Control Release.
