Angle of Mobility

An idiom describing the angle a foot maneuver utilizes, such that it opens or closes a gap between you and the opponent(s) in an unencumbered and unobstructed manner.

Comments:

 

An Angle of Mobility is generic and can refer to an Angle of Closure or an Angle of Departure.

 

Typically, one would attempt to use the ideal Angles of Mobility.  Those angles, based upon Environmental Conditionsand Economy of Motion, that would Close the Gap or Open the Gap between you and your opponent, while maximizing your Availability of Targets, while simultaneously minimizing your opponent's and creating an Angle of Greatest Movement.

Example(s):

 

A Step-Through toward the opponent prior to the executionof a Self-defense Technique would demonstrate an Angle of Mobility that Closes the Gap.

 

A cover out to any angle, after the execution of a Self-defense Techniquewould demonstrate an Angle of Mobility that Opens the Gap.
