Angle of Cancellation

An idiom describing a controlling, positional angle created for the purpose of restraining, suppressing, minimizing, eliminating, nullifying, and/or neutralizing potential and/or in flight weapons.

An Angle of Cancellation can be created:

Defensively:

One of the primary purposes of an Angle of Cancellation is to minimize the opponent's Weapon Availability.  The major way in which this is done, is by maintaining control of two or more of the opponent's Dimensional Zones, simultaneously.

 

Causing an Angle of Cancellation creates an situation where you are better able to take advantage of the opponent, while simultaneously minimizing the concern for potential future attacks.

 

An Angle of Cancellation can be created using a combination of checks and maneuvers, in order to check an opponent's weapons - but it, itself, is not a check.  Rather, an Angle of Cancellation is the name for the prone position the opponent is placed in, in order to check their weapons.

 

Angle of Cancellation differs from check, in that Angle of Cancellation is created by changing the opponent's position to minimize their Weapon Availability.

Example(s):

 

Using an arm lock to force the opponent to bend forward until their head is below there waist, demonstrates one way to create and Angle of Cancellation.
