Reactionary Set-up

An idiom referring to the Strategic Ploy of creating a reaction from a Deceptive Action for the purposes of creating exploitable positioning on the opponent(s).

Comments:

Reactionary Set-up differs from Conditioned Response in that the reaction is natural and not purposefully conditioned by you, although one might argue that a Planned Reaction is form of Conditioned Response - just a longer term and more ingrained Conditioned Response.

Reactionary Set-up differs from Momentary Conditioning in the same way as that Conditioned Response is, and that a Planned Reaction tends to be more permanent in nature.

A Reactionary Set-up can equally be used by you and against you.

Reactionary Set-ups are commonly  brought about by Unanticipated Variables against an opponent, but may equally be enacted by Anticipated Variables.

A.K.A.:

Planned Reaction, Reactionary Anticipation, Reactionary Set-up

Example(s):

Flinching when someone attempts to punch you demonstrates a Reactionary Set-up that should be overcome.
