Compensation is commonplace in combat, sparring, self-defense technique execution, or any activity that is extemporaneous in nature.
The practitioner is encouraged to become comfortable and accepting of compensation and change.
Some of the common causes for compensation are: Environmental constraints or changes From the practitioner: a.Read errors b.Tactical errors c.Visual Interpretation errors From the opponent: c.Broken Rhythm or Delayed Movement
Compensate differs from deviate in that compensate is more specific and is essentially deviation to make-up for problems or errors. |
