Amplify


A distinct form of Altering achieved by changing a maneuver within a Base Move from defensive to offensive or visa verse without disrupting its effectiveness.

Comments:

 

This process should be accomplished without effecting the flow of the Base Move.

 

This process is usually accomplished with a circular maneuver by:

a.expanding the circular Path of Travel - defense to offense

b.contracting the circular Path of Travel - offense to defense

 

This process is usually accomplished with a linear move by:

altering the Path of Travel

 

This term illustrates that It is possible and sometimes necessary to alter a specific maneuver without changing it's Path of Travel. For instance, the opponent may change positions, negating the need for the Path of Travel to be altered - but rather, the intent of the maneuver is altered, accomplishing the same result.

 

Example(s):

 

Altering an inward back-knuckle rake to the opponent's nose into an inward block by contracting the circular Path of Travel, demonstrates amplification.
