Sequential Flow

An idiom describing the maximized use of available weapons resulting in a continuous uninterrupted sequence of maneuvers and/or methods.

Comments:

Sequential Flow is fairly generic in nature and does not limit the result to offense or defense.

Sequential Flow uses Variable Expansion to achieve its goals.

Sequential Flow is a form of Compounding.

A Sequential Flow, properly executed, typically would result in Continuous Weapons.

A Sequential Flow typically results in Continuity of Motion, but this is not a requirement. A Sequential Flow may use purposeful Broken Rhythm, Dead Space, and/or other specialized timing as a Strategic Ploy.

In a teaching environment, a Sequential Flow often starts as a Base Move (totally predetermined), then is enhanced to Contact Placement (partially predetermined), and finally to totally spontaneous.

From the perspective of Sequential Flow, the primary purpose is that the series of maneuvers and methods are diverse and designed to use as many available and effective weapons as possible.

Sequential Flow differs from Continuity in that Sequential Flow comes from a broader view - primarily with the flow of action and effectiveness of a series of maneuvers.

Sequential Flow differs from Continuous Weapons in that Sequential Flow can consist of both offensive and defensive maneuvers.

Sequential Flow can contain major moves and minor moves (A.K.A. Transitional Move).

Sequential Flow differs from Fluid Movement in that Fluid Movement describes the continuity itself, and does not refer to the variety of weapon choices used to create the series of maneuver and methods.
