Cross Check

Any check which is physically distinguishable by employing multiple Dimensional Zones to further cancel and or control other Dimensional Zones on the opponent.

Comments:

This term refers to only one main characteristic of the overall checking maneuver. Because of this, the same checking maneuver can potentially be referred to in different ways or through a combination of characteristics.

Cross Checking is highly encouraged because of the fact that it allows the practitioner to check off multiple Dimensional Zones with a simple positioning of the extremity.

Cross Checking can be created with any Environmental Object and is not just limited to the extremities.

Cross Checking is not limited to just the arms, but can just as easily created with the legs.

Cross Checks are most commonly used to check off the dimensions of width and depth, but that is not a requirement.

A Cross Check can be created explicitly through purposeful positioning or can be the residual result of specific weapon enactment angles (see examples).

The Cross Check may start with only the placement of the weapon (such as hand) to a specific location (see examples), but can often be enhanced by the placing of the entire length a checking limb in contact with the opponent. Doing this impedes both rotation (torque generation) and forward depth (Back-up Mass generation).

Cross Checks are often referred to as cross body checks.
