This term refers to only one main characteristic of the overall checking maneuver. Because of this, the same checking maneuver can potentially be referred to in different ways or through a combination of characteristics.
A Pushing Check differs from a Offensive Check in that the Pushing Check is a more specific type of Offensive Check in that it must be enacted via a pushing maneuver.
It is arguable that a Pushing Check is also just a variation on a Pressing Check.
It is arguable that a Pushing Check is a variation on a Lock-out that is started from a push.
A Pushing Check can be enacted with a single handed or double handed push.
Technically speaking this is a method of contouring.
