This term refers to only one main characteristic of the overall checking maneuver. Because of this, the same checking maneuver can potentially be referred to in different ways or through a combination of characteristics.
Double Check describes the method of checking, in this case multiple checks are enacted to different parts (typically joints) of the opponent's body to hinder or impede the usage of the checked parts.
The most common way this method is enacted is through a series of two (2) sequential maneuvers to joints at different depths (commonly the elbow and shoulder or wrist and elbow) not only for defense but also to maintain a degree of control over the opponent's Dimensional Zones.
