A specialize method of a checking created by applying pressure against an opposing surface, using a line of action, with the intent to nullify the delivery of an opponent's weapon(s).

Comments:

A pinning check differs from a sliding check, in that the pinning check maintains the same relative position on the opposing surface.

A pinning check differs from a pressing check, in that the pinning check uses a line of action.  But, the terms are often used interchangeably.
