Puzzle Principle


An idiom referring to the fitting the of weapons to targets using the natural shape of both to enhance effectiveness.

An easy way to understand Puzzle Principle is that it is active employment of fitting.

 

Basically, Puzzle Principle is the foundational concept that in order to enhance strikes (and other types of maneuvers and methods) one should seek to match shapes that naturally occur on potential weapons (both natural and man-made) and targets.

 

Puzzle Principle is most commonly used in the context of penetrating strikes (e.g. hammering and thrusting). In this context, the main intent of the Puzzle Principle is to enhance the penetration and increase the effectiveness of a strike (or other maneuver or method).
