Even though the definition given is singular, in application the effect of implementing this term is usually not singular in result.
This term encompasses any and all body movements that are employed to enhance one's defenses.
This term is not limited to moves that are purely defensive in nature or intent. It is just as conceivable that an offensive move has the net effect of increasing defenses. See Defensive Offense and Offensive Defense for more incite into this concept. |
