Angle of Deflection

An idiom describing the angle at which a move diverts an offensive weapon from its intended target.

Angle of Deflection

Comments:

Typically, the Angle of Deflection is maximized by creating an Angle of Contact that meets an offensive weapon.  In other words, the sooner you meet a weapon in flight, the further the weapon will be deflected from its intended target.

Angle of Deflection differs from Angle of Avoidance, in that Angle of Avoidance can refer to both an Angle of Deviation and/or Angle of Deflection.

Contact Deviation creates an Angle of Deflection.

An Angle of Cancellation can also be created from an Angle of Deflection.

See the saying "In order to beat action, meet action".

See Defensive Reaction for more discussion on defensive options.
