Loop

Any motion that creates a relatively circular figure.

2)

A specialized Method of Execution that combines roundhousing or hooking with hammering, thrusting, etc., to create a relatively circular Path of Travel.

Used in this context, this term is the same as the layman's usage.

 

In a martial art context, this term refers to motions such as:

Hooks

Roundhouses

Scoops

Shovels

or any move that is non-linear in nature.

 

Looping moves tend to return to Point of Origin after completion, but this is not a mandate.

This type of move can be employed vertically, horizontally, or diagonally; but generally refers to ones that pass over the head in a circular fashion.

In competition, if a practitioner were to circle around the entire ring, they would have created a loop around the ring.
