Center of Gravity

The intersecting point on an Environmental Object where all mass outside of that point is evenly distributed on any axis.

Comments:

 

The most common usage of Center of Gravity, is in reference to one's body.

 

Center of Gravity is directly related to the distribution of mass in an Environmental Object.

 

Center of Gravity is in a different place on men and women:

a.On women, the Center of Gravity is just above the hip line or navel area

b.On men, the Center of Gravity is right around the Solar Plexus area

 

Proper positioning of one's Center of Gravity is an essential element for maintaining proper balance and maximizing one's power.

 

Some styles, such as Judo, have their foundation on Center of Gravity and how it relates to one's opponent.

 

One of the major purposes of obtaining a stance is to lower one's Center of Gravity.

 

It is typically true to try to have one's Center of Gravity below the opponent(s)'.  This allows for easier destabilization of an opponent's base.
