Internalize

An idiom for the goal of integrating a particular maneuver or method to point of becoming spontaneous and relatively instinctive in nature and execution.

Comments:

The goal of training is to more than just understand, but to internalize from both a mental and physical perspective.

Internalization is achieved through understanding and becoming comfortable with what was once difficult, arduous, and/or hard to the point that it becomes second nature.

This term is closely associated with the saying: "One will fight how they train."

See Stages of Internalization for more information.
