Inside Downward Elbow - Elbow Up (Block)

A specific type of Striking elbow block which is physically distinguishable by the inward (and downward) direction (in relation to the practitioner) of its movement in order to effect the block, with the elbow being at a higher level than the hand.

Comments:

In practice, this block is more effectively executed from a neutral bow stance, rather a training horse stance due to the fact that the elbow does not fully extend to the opposite side of the outer rim while in a training horse stance.

Like its forearm counterpart, the inward block, this block travels from the same side to the opposite side of the body (inward); but from a higher to lower point.

The path of this maneuver (in training) is most commonly a looping downward arc, but can also be more linear in travel (in application); but this is dependent upon the point of origin of the maneuver, in relation to height.
