This analogy is used to help underscore the importance of proper breath control in coordination with one's movement by comparing concentration of breath with that of a heated tea kettle.
Normal breathing would be analogous with an unheated tea pot where the breath, like the lack of steam, is smooth and unconstrained. But when the tea pot is heated, the steam is forced to concentrate and be released in a controlled explosive manner through the spout. This is analogous to how one can concentrate their breath to be released in coordination with one's movements in an effort to maximize power release into a specific maneuver or method. |
