Tackle

A specialized form of takedown distinguished by charging at; hugging; and attempting to lift, force, or in some way throw the opponent; using the shoulder, chest, or head as the fulcrum and/or Point of Contact.

Comments:

 

Tackles are one, effective way to take an opponent to the ground.

 

If a tackle takes the opponent to the ground, it could be considered to be a Vise-Like maneuver.

 

Tackles have evolved from being a primarily wrestling or sports maneuver to one that is frequently used to transition from stand-up fighting to ground fighting.
