Continuous Weapons


An idiom describing a flow of maneuvers and/or methods that once initiated are employed in rapid succession for the purpose of overwhelming the opponent(s) with a sustained barrage that is designed to keep them off-balance and on the defense.

 

Comments:

 

Continuous Weapons commonly refers to offensive maneuvers and methods, but this is not a requirement.

 

Continuous Weapons is essentially the implementation of the principle of Continuity of Motion with multiple offensive / defensive maneuvers.

 

Continuous Weapons result from a Sequential Flow.

 

Implementation of Continuous Weapons typically results in Fluid Movement, but this is not a requirement.

 

Continuous Weapons can also be thought of as creating and maintaining leverage over the opponent(s) through multiple maneuver and/or methods (e.g. Get the Upper Hand).

 

Continuous Weapons is an effective means of maintaining the opponent(s) in a defensive posture, by keeping the opponent(s) continuously occupied with your attack - not allowing them time to recoup and retaliate.

 

Continuous Weapons can be implemented as a Base Move (totally predetermined), Contact Placement (partially predetermined), spontaneous (totally unplanned) .  What matters is that the series of offensive maneuvers create an efficient Sequential Flow.

 

Continuous Weapons differs from Pursuant Aggression in that it is lightly more specific in nature and refers to the rapid-fire use of offensive weapons for controlling a situation.

 

Continuous Weapons can be considered a specific type of Perpetual Control.
