A specific type of Striking block which is physically distinguishable by the inward direction (in relation to the practitioner) of its movement and its method of execution in order to effect the block. |

This block generally requires only one (1) step executed (from a non-ready position) - point of origin to intended target
The exception to the above is when the arm starts from a higher position than the intended target (i.e. a ready position). In such a case, its cousin block would most likely be performed - the hammering inward block.
This inward block travels from the same side to the opposite side of the body (inward) - as the blocking arm; and from a lower to a higher point (thrusting).
The word inward, in this case, is equivalent to inside. |
