Technique Line

An idiom referring to the practicing of Self-Defense Techniques with a group of others by creating a line of practitioners with the one at the head of the line being the defender by executing a prescribed Self-Defense Technique and the others in the line being the attacker by executing the prescribed offensive maneuver(s) toward the defender.

Comments:

The Technique Line is one method of practicing Self-Defense Techniques with other practitioners.

There are a multitude of variations to this method of practice - with the most common being the defender is at the front of the line and each of the others in the line take turn attacking the defender and then moving to the end of the line. The defender switches when the second practitioner makes their way back to the front, at which point the second person becomes the defender and the previous defender becomes an attacker by moving to the end of the line.

The Technique Line is designed to allow the practitioner to practice their Self-Defense Techniques under pressure and with a variety of different types of attackers.

A Technique Line differs from a Single Line in that the primary practitioner stays in one place and the line moves to attack them.
