An idiom referring to how something is taught initially.

Exemplar, optimal, or perfect.

In this context, ideal simply means as taught. As in, an exemplar that is not modified in any way.

 

Ideal should not be confused with the layman's definition of the term (definition #2). They are not interchangeable. Many uninformed practitioners believe that the two (2) definitions refer to the same meaning.
