Generally speaking, a Directional Switch is a ninety degrees (90º) or greater change in direction.
Directional Switch is the companion term to Directional Adjustment and Directional Deviation where Directional Switch refers to a modification of direction that changes course enough to considered an opposite (less than 180 degrees) or reverse (180 degrees).
Directional Switch is generic in nature and can refer a change in either linear or circular motion (aka Orbital Switch). See circle and line for more information on this subject.
Directional Switch differs from Directional Change in that Directional Change is slightly more generic in nature, but can be used interchangeably with Directional Switch.
