Spirit of the Technique


An idiom referring to the vigor at which a Self-Defense Technique (or other Base Move) is executed by the practitioner.

 

Comments:

 

As one begins to internalize the Self-Defense Techniques of the system, the Spirit of the Technique should increase to the point at which it is relatively indistinguishable from a real-world encounter.

 

Spirit of the Technique is related to Stages of Internalization from the context of the Self-Defense Division of the art.

 

Spirit of the Technique is from the First Point of View (and Third Point of View) - where Spirit of the Attack is from Second Point of View (and Third Point of View).
