A specific type of Striking elbow block which is physically distinguishable by the outward (and upward) direction (in relation to the practitioner) of its movement in order to effect the block. |

Like its forearm counterpart, the outward block, this block travels from the opposite side to the same side of the body (outward); and from a lower to a higher point (thrusting).
Since this block travels from the opposite side of the body to the same side of the body, it first must be cocked before execution from a standard training stance.
The word outward, in this case, is equivalent to outside. |
