A specific type of Striking block which is physically distinguishable by the outward direction (in relation to the practitioner) of its movement and its physical orientation (vertical) at the conclusion of its execution and the rotation of the arm (inner wrist facing practitioner). |

This block is typically not used as an active block, but rather, mostly used as a check or cover. This is due to it being less physically strong in relation to its cousin - the extended outward block. Because of this the extended outward block is often used instead.
This block is considered more of an ancient block.
The word outward, in this case, is equivalent to outside. |
