A Base Technique is the most rudimentary method of executing a Self-Defense Technique, without any form of physical variation or extension.
A Base Technique is literally the base moves of a Self-Defense Technique.
Because the Self-Defense Techniques in Kenpo are so frequently analyzed and modified to meet varying situations, a Base Technique is sometimes hard for different practitioners to agree upon. For example, one practitioner might say to step forward to establish a base, where another might say to step back. |
