An idiom referring to a Strategic Ploy where the opponent(s) become conditioned to believe there is a specific anticipated width (as in stance or strike), then using Deceptive Action to confound the opponent(s)  for offensive purposes.

Comments:

This strategy is typically employed through constant (and seemingly normal) motion that subconsciously conditions the opponent(s) into believing that there is a constant width associated with a stance or particular maneuver or method. Then when the conditioning is deemed complete the width is changed in such a way as to not alert the opponent(s) as to that change.

Width Deception is employed against the opponent(s) by using Reactionary Anticipation and Reactionary Set-up.

Width Deception is a variation on Momentary Conditioning.
