In this context, lift does not apply as using a lifting Method of Execution.
Lifts can be a distinct component of a Take-down or Tackle, but this is not a requirement. Almost always the lift component would take place at the beginning of the maneuver to aid in its overall effectiveness.
Lifts are most commonly enacted using the opponent's body, but this is not a requirement.
Lifts flow naturally from Hugs, and to a certain degree Grabs.
Lifts can be used for a large number of purposes but, by definition, will always destabilize the opponent (until the opponent regains a base). |
