Hug


A distinct type of Vise-Like, maneuver which is physically distinguishable by the wrapping of one (1) or more extremities around any part of an opponent in order to create some form of control or injury.

 

Comments:

 

A hug enacted with both arms (typically to the opponent's body) is most commonly referred to as a bear-hug.

 

A hug is often applied with the intent of hindering the opponent's breathing by constricting the body.

 

A hug can be applied to control any part of the opponent's body or body parts.

 

A hug can be applied from any Angle of Attack (i.e. front, back, side).

 

A hug is not limited to any specific direction of application.

 

A hug can be used as an offensive tactic by more than one opponent. For example, one opponent could apply a bear-hug with the intent to hinder defensive maneuvers, while the other opponent takes advantage of the situation.

 

A hug is usually re-enforced by creating Closed Circle Strength with the hands.

 

Hugs are often applied by larger people to smaller people.

 

Hugs fall into the Dead Hand attack category.
