Tackle

A distinct type of Applied maneuver which is physically distinguishable by aggressively colliding with an opponent using the shoulder, with a least the intent to destabilize.

Comments:

Tackles can be used with the simple intent to push the opponent backward (using your forward momentum) or as aggressively as intending to take the opponent to the ground (e.g. having a Take-down component).

Tackles can have a lifting the component at the beginning of the maneuver to aid in the destabilization of the opponent, but this is not a requirement.

From a specific perspective, tackles are a specialized Push.

Tackles flow naturally into Take-downs.
