See Jump Foot Maneuvers for more information on this subject.
Flying can be initiated by anyone in the environment - you or the opponent(s).
Flying can be another way of saying Jump.
Flying is often enacted on both a Vertical Plane and a Horizontal Plane element, but only the vertical element is a requirement.
To visualize this term in relation to a spectrum of degree of flying (e.g. strictly vertical Body English): Stationary (none) Fly (Jump)
While Kenpo does not recommend using airborne techniques, because of the lack of a stable base, some martial arts styles encourage and rely upon these maneuvers. |
