Fly


An idiom describing a general method of raising in one's stance  to the point of causing the entire body to lose contact with the ground for a period of time.

Flying can be initiated by anyone in the environment - you or the opponent(s).

 

Flying can be another way of saying Jump.

 

Flying is often enacted on both a Vertical Plane and a Horizontal Plane element, but only the vertical element is a requirement.

While Kenpo does not recommend using airborne techniques, because of the lack of a stable base, some martial arts styles encourage and rely upon these maneuvers.
