Clear is a generic term that can be used in offensive, defensive, and/or tactical situations.
Clearing can be done by the practitioner: to him/her self to the opponent
Clearing is a generic, and less precise, term and can be used as an alternative to Block or Parry.
A Clear differs from a block, in that a clear can be against a stationary weapon. Because of this distinction, many times a clear is mistaken for a block.
Clear is typically used in common vernacular, when one is not trying to be specific - rather, trying to make a point or describe something not related to the defensive move.
A clear differs from a strike, in that a clear does not have the intent to cause injury. |

Forcing and opponent's arm(s) downward with your arm(s) to create a direct Angle of Entry to one or more targets, would demonstrate an offensive clear to the opponent.
Moving your own covering arm, such that a target opening is created, for the purpose of luring the opponent to that target area, would demonstrate a tactical clear to one's self. |
