Surface Concentration

An idiom referring the concentration of the contact surface of an offensive weapon for the purposes of maximizing its penetrating force into the intended target.

Comments:

Looked at from the perspective of the weapon, this concept would be referred to as the Pin-Point Effect. Looked at from the perspective of the target, this same concept would be referred to as the Edge Effect.

This concept can be summed up as: the smaller the surface contact of the weapon, the greater the penetration into the target using the same amount of force.

This term is closely associated with tips of weapons, such as (using Natural Weapons): elbows, knees, fingers, etc.

This term is typically used in the context of Natural Weapons due to your ability to change weapon formation for varying contact concentrations, but this is not a requirement. In the context of Man-Made Weapons, this term would refer to using the tip of the weapon in contrast to using its edge.
