A distinct category of a strike which is physically distinguishable by striking with the lower case area of the palm (e.g. heel of the palm) as the natural weapon's contact point with the intended target. |

The layman's term for this strike is the heel-palm, but the terms can be used interchangeably.
Palm-heels can be executed in vast array of directions (e.g. straight, side, up, down, etc.) and orientations (e.g. horizontal, vertical, inverted, etc.).

Given the numerous potential options available to effect the maneuver, one can see that the potential for creating a list of all potential palm-heels is daunting. This is why primarily only the palm-heel strikes included in the original written curriculum are individually listed in this section.
Palm-heel strikes are closely associated with both the thrusting and clawing Methods of Execution used in tandem to create a sophisticated basic. Another way to think about this is: one should not say heel-palm without claw, and visa-verse. |
