Limited Retaliation

Definition(s):

An Idiom referring to the positioning of someone into a situation where they are restricted, restrained, or otherwise limited from enacting effective defensive or offensive maneuvers or methods.

Comments:

Limited Retaliation is a general term and can refer to any type of restraining of the opponent - either through Natural Weapons or other Environmental Weapons.

Taking advantage of Leverage Points is a common way of creating Limited Retaliation.

Technically speaking, Limited Retaliation is an active form of limiting the opponent (i.e. think checking) instead of a passive form (i.e. think covering). Because of this Limited Retaliation would more likely fall into a preventative method category not anticipatory one.

Example(s):

Tying an opponent to a chair is an example of creating Limited Retaliation through the use of the Environment.

Checking the opponent's arm to their side is an example of creating Limited Retaliation with a Pressing Check or Pinning Check.
